Wai Maharashtra Trip Day 1 – Dhom Dam

After a long time our Diwali Family trip (18 persons) to Wai (Anandvan Holiday Homewas planned and we were looking forward to it. We got up early, did Laxmi Puja as it was first day of Diwali and left at 9:45 am from Mumbai. Wai is around 240 km from Mumbai. Our first halt at 12:00 noon was at the expressway food plaza. Our Lunch halt came at 2:30 pm at Hotel Amruta Garden. They have both veg and non veg restaurants, you first come across the veg restaurant once you enter the place. The food is tasty and a halt is recommended at Hotel Amruta Garden. After a long 1.5 hours Gujarati Family lunch break :), we finally reached Anandvan Holiday Home at 5:00 pm. Anandvan is an eco-friendly organic resort where one can spend their time in peace while enjoying the beauty of nature. It is located in the Krishna Valley, near Dhom Dam where Sahyadri mountain ranges and lush green farms add to its beauty.

Since Dhom Dam is located just 4 km from Anandvan, we decided to visit the place to enjoy boating at sunset. Dhom Dam is a beautiful dam with birds, no hawkers, or maddening crowd compared to Veena Lake in Mahabaleshwar. We enjoyed our group boating ride while watching the sun going down for the day…
